Ugh

There are some days, when leaving my son at day care, I get the Mommy Guilt.  That, instead of working a job pushing pixels on some website, I should be raising my son and spending his formative years being his mommy.  There are some mornings when I regret taking a full time job, leaving the care and early education of my child to strangers, that I should be there for him.

And then there are mornings like this morning, when I walk up to the door of Sammy’s day care and announce to the kind teacher who opens the door, “Take my child now.”

Sick Again

On Wednesday night, I woke up from sleeping with a cough, and then I threw up all over my bed. That made me sad. Daddy washed me in the bathtub and Mommy cleaned my bed. I stayed home from school the next day and felt a little better, but then I threw up again after my nap.

Mommy took me to school on Friday, and I felt a little better but not really that great. But then when we got home, Grandmommy was there! It was really great to see her!

On Saturday we didn’t do very much because Mommy and Daddy didn’t feel so good. But Grandmommy stayed with me while Mommy and Daddy went out to celebrate their anniversary.

On Monday, though, everyone got sick tummies. I was okay a lot of the day, but I threw up in the afternoon again. We all stayed home on Monday and all the grown ups slept most of the day.

But we all are starting to feel better now.

My New Room!

Last weekend, I moved into my brand new room. Mommy has been working very hard painting it all summer. It’s green on the bottom and cream on top, just like Gordon’s coaches. And all around the room there is a scenic picture of Thomas and all of his friends!

I helped Daddy put the stickers on the wall.
Mommy and Daddy installed a whole new closet system to keep all of my clothes and books nice and neat.
Best of all, I have a brand new bed that’s just my height! I like to sleep there with all my fuzzy friends.

The whole room is a Thomas the Tank Engine paradise. I’ve got Thomas the Tank Engine curtains, Thomas sheets on my bed, and a giant stuffed Thomas to snuggle. I even have a Thomas beanie chair to sit in, but I like to sit on the floor or my bed when I read my books.

Mommy and Daddy still have more work to do, like put up some shelves and a curtain in front of the closet, but I really like it a lot!

Yay! Play Date!

On Sunday, Mommy and Daddy took me too my friend Ben’s house for a play date. I haven’t seen Ben in a long time, since he got a new sister. (She’s really cute.)

I had lots of fun. I claimed all of Ben’s trains as my own, and Ben kept tackling me over and over. Eventually, our mommies had to take away most of the toys because Ben was throwing them or we were fighting over them or something. But I still had fun.

When I got up Monday morning, all I wanted to do was go back to Ben’s house and play again!

Thomas-palooza

Last weekend, Mommy and Daddy took me all the way up to Strasburg, Pennsylvania. There, we met up with Grandmommy Lolo. We had lots of fun. The best part was the “Day Out with Thomas”. There were so many kids my age there, it was overwhelming! But there were choo choos and games and food and even Sir Topham Hatt (although I kinda fussed and cried when I met him).

But the coolest thing of all was I got to ride on a train pulled by Thomas himself. We went all the way out into the country where we saw farms and cows and horses. Then I got my picture taken with him. It was so much fun!

I also got lots of new Thomas stuff like engines, track and tee-shirts. Even some Thomas blankies to take with me to school.

I can’t wait to do this again!
